Hi, I’m John Sterling
I am currently a Ph.D. student studying Mathematics at Purdue University. I earned my M.S. in Mathematics at Auburn University, where I worked under the supervision of Dr. Ziqin Feng. Prior to that, I completed a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Philosophy at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I have also been a research associate at the Rotorcraft Systems Engineering and Simulation Center. Details are in my CV.
My research interests lie in topology, specifically algebraic and combinatorial topology. I am particularly interested in the study of Čech and Vietoris-Rips complexes as well as persistent homology.
